At least seven people were injured early Sunday morning in a mass shooting near the Indiana University campus in Bloomington during homecoming weekend.

Officers heard “multiple gunshots” amid a large crowd and later saw a man with a gun running from the scene at around 1:30 a.m., according to Bloomington Deputy Chief of Police Ryan Pedigo.

It’s believed there was a fight in the crowd immediately before the shooting, WTHR reported.

The victims’ conditions are currently unknown, but no deaths have been reported, Pedigo said.

Cops are working to learn whether there were any other people injured in the chaos who are yet to report.

Cops took one person into custody and found a gun nearby, but they do not know whether he is the shooter, Pedigo said.

Cops also found shell casings of various calibers on the sidewalk near the scene — suggesting multiple guns were fired, the Bloomingtonian reported.

The shooting took place on Kirkwood Avenue near Grant Street — a popular party destination for students — just three blocks from the IU campus.

This weekend was homecoming for IU, and the Indiana football Hoosiers beat Minnesota in an overtime stunner earlier in the evening.
