A single mom of two was mysteriously found dead at the bottom of a Kansas bridge — with cops now fearing she may have slipped through a gap in a “tragic accident.”

Monica Rivera, 24, was last seen on a morning walk along Kansas City’s 7th Street bridge early Friday when she suddenly vanished, getting reported missing later that day, police said.

A body was then found later that morning in an industrial area underneath the bridge, which was later confirmed to be the missing mom.

The preliminary autopsy indicated “no evidence of foul play” — and the alarming theory is that the mom accidentally slipped through a known gap in the bridge decking.

“It kind of looks like it’s one continuous deck … but there’s actually a gap,” police spokesperson Nancy Chartrand told the Kansas City Star, describing Rivera’s death as a “tragic accident.”

“If you were trying to go from one side to the other, you could possibly fall.”

Rivera’s grieving family says she died “due to a safety oversight” – with her aunt, Cassie Bennett, creating a Change.org petition urging the city to take action.

The aunt claimed the city has not addressed the fault “despite repeated concerns raised by the community.”

“This fatal accident could have been avoided if the city had taken timely action to ensure the safety of its citizens,” she said.

“The neglect of this apparent flaw goes against these standards and must be rectified immediately.

“By addressing this gap, we can prevent further accidents and ensure our loved ones are safe when they traverse this bridge.”

The single mom, from Wyandotte County, has been described by her heartbroken pals online as someone with a “beautiful” soul.

“Fly high & stay dancing in the sky. Thank you for being a friend,” pal Crystal Lynn said of Rivera.
